We are pleased to announce that the LPNs For Change group has gained a valuable member: Dylan Bertwell!

Dylan Bertwell has been an LPN for 6.5 years. He completed his nursing program at Bow Valley College, graduating in April 2019. He began his nursing career working on a casual basis at a supportive living facility in Okotoks. He worked there for about two years before moving into another position with a private company contracted by AHS to provide COVID testing and immunizations in and around Calgary. He continued in that role for two years, until COVID cases began to decline.

He has now been with AHS for just over three years and currently works in a rural hospital in both the ER and the acute care med/surg unit. He will soon be moving back to Calgary for a new ER position.

He has been a strong advocate for reclassifying us into direct nursing care, as that reflects the work we do.
